Are you passionate about the future of New Zealand and want to make a difference?
The Climate Challenge Conference is a celebration of our future leaders, innovators and change-makers - along with their ability to shape the world around them. Climate change is the challenge of our generation, and young people are the inheritors of humanity’s response to climate change as well as the driving force for its solution
It’s for this reason that the Climate Challenge, a youth for youth project, was started in 2015. It aims to challenge stereotypes about who can be a leader, empowering high school students with skills and connections that they need to be leaders in their communities. It also challenges the current widespread dis-empowerment about climate change, looking at the future of New Zealand as a whole and the youth of today’s role in it. Our first conference ran in 2016 and will run again in 2017.
About the Climate Challenge team
The Climate Challenge team is made up of a group of community leaders aged 16-18 representing groups and schools from across the Wellington region. These students came together because of a shared passion for the environment and youth empowerment, all with a wide range of interests and skills.
